Why Most Training Plans Don't Work?

Simple. Most players are doing Speed and Explosive drills on a broken system! They never fix their control phase, rush through Slow and Smooth phase, and just right into the fast phase. So the workouts look quick but they barely see any changes on the ice!

At Owen Performance we build speed in one strict order.

  • Control: Can they hit the right positions and own them?

  • Slow: Can they own those positions under load, slowly and with strength?

  • Smooth: Can they repeat them smoothly and consistently?

  • Fast: Only then do we chase true speed and power.

If you skip a step, your progress stalls. When you follow this sequence, you suddenly look like a different skater.

Next-step options (if it makes sense)

If you want help, we’ll walk through the options that have been working best for players like your child (6‑Week Sprint, 12‑Week Performance System, or 365 Elite + pods). If not, you still leave with the roadmap and the bonus Pre‑Game Speed System.

***Guarantee***: If you don’t feel like you got real clarity on why your athlete isn’t progressing and what to do next, just say so at the end and we won’t invite you into any program. No pressure.

Who is this Assessment for?

For:

  • Competitive hockey players and figure skaters (roughly 12–20)

  • Athletes who feel “stuck” and haven’t gotten faster despite working hard

  • Families who want a clear, science‑based plan, that's work for 1000's of athletes, not random drills

  • Parents willing to get their athlete to the gym consistently

Not for:

  • General fitness / weight‑loss goals

  • Athletes who don’t really care about improving

  • Families looking for the cheapest possible option or just a one‑time workout

What local athletes are saying...

Noah

Since working with Bobby, I've become stronger, faster, and more confident on and off the ice. I contribute all of this to his guidance on workouts.

Thomas

Keeping me strong and fast for more than 10 years. Got me understanding the fundamentals and I could easily understand what I needed to do next.

Meg

One of my main goals coming to Owen Performance was to improve my speed and to become stronger and I think that these two aspects are some of the biggest assets in my game right now.

Just a few results of hockey players like YOU in the last few months using our system.

F.A.Q.

Q: Is this really free? What’s the catch?
Yes, it’s free for local families. We do this because once parents see the system and results, many choose to work with us for a 6‑ or 12‑week block and then pods. If it’s not a fit, you still leave with a plan and the Pre‑Game Speed System.

Q: My athlete already has a gym/team program. Is this still useful?
Yes. If your current plan is working, this will confirm it and show where to double down. If it’s not, this will show exactly why and what to change.

Q: How long does the assessment take?
Plan for about 30-45 minutes.

Q: Do they work out hard in the assessment?
They’ll move, but the goal is not to crush them. The goal is to test, see where they are on the roadmap, and build a smart plan.

Q: What should they bring?
Indoor shoes, water, and whatever they normally train in.
